Little Black Dress?

Every girl says that "every girl must have a little black dress in their closet", is this statement true?


I would believe so. The little black dress is so simple that you can wear it to practically anything. You can wear it to a fancy dinner or just a day out with some friends. I happen to think that in all of the things you can own in your closet the "little black dress" is one of the easiest piece to dress up or dress down.  You can do anything from dressing it up with some gold jewelry and a good pair of colored heels, for a pop of a color, or dressing it down with a cardigan and a pair of converse or flats.
 If your dressing up your black dress with heels I recommend adding colored heels for a little pop of color, while black heels are always reliable the color pop makes the outfit a little more out going and fun.
Make-up is always a piece of cake when wearing a black dress, two of my favorite looks is a nude smoky eye with a pale pink lip or a black cat eyeliner and red lip. A good nude eye shadow pallet is Nude on Nude by Bobbi Brown, my favorite pale pink lipstick is A Novel Romance by M.A.C. The nude eye and pale pink make-up makes the look dressed up but simple and sophisticated at the same time. As for the black cat eyeliner and red lips, the best eyeliner that doesn't smudge and lasts the whole day is Fluidline in Blitz&Glitz by M.A.C and a good red lipstick is Viva La Glam Rihanna 1 Lipstick by M.A.C. The black cat eyeliner and red lip gives an edgy look to what I would consider a rather innocent dress.
As for hair, there are so many styles you could do. One that I see often is a top bun  or a side braid. One braid that I personally think goes the best with the look to make it unique is the fish tail braid. If you want to leave your hair down then a good look to pair with the dress is curled hair, I recommend a 1" inch barrel to have it loose but still well put together.
A little black dress can be used in so many different ways but these are my recommendations to you for an all time classic look.
